Paula Evans — Owner/Hairstylist

You became a professional in the beauty industry for a good reason that is all your own. Tell us about that reason and why you are where you are today.
I feel in love with the beauty industry at a young age. I would watch my mom give perms to her friends at the kitchen table and I would have to be there right in the middle of it. I love people and hearing their stories and knowing that I can make them feel and look their best. It’s the small things in life that make people/clients happy.

How long have you been a professional in the beauty industry? From where and whom have you received your training?
23 years. I was trained at Missoula Montana Beauty School. I love and still do love education with LANZA and attend any beauty shows that come my way.

What is your passion in your work? What grand, pinnacle moment do you look for each day that makes what you do fulfilling and worth every minute?
I love to make my clients happy and have fun with them and make them smile. I want them to feel excited to come see me and to see what I have new for them.

What are your personal passions? Tell us a bit about what makes you tick, what makes you seek out and pursue your interests, and what drives you to excel not just professionally but in your personal life as well.
I love people and their stories. My passion is to travel and see how different cultures live and how the beauty industry influences their lives. I work to play hard and enjoy the fun things in life with my family and friends.

What do you like to do outside of work? Are you a member of any organizations or charities? Tell us what you do out in the world when away from home or work.
My family is a huge part of my life, we go camping, weekends at the lake, hike and we enjoy every part of our Montana lifestyle.

How do you want to grow professionally? What skills are you working towards perfecting, and how will these skills increase your ability to better serve your clients?
I attend as many classes and hair shows as I can get to. I think that continuing education is vital in our industry, it helps keep things fresh and makes us not to be complacent in an industry that is always changing. I am also a lash educator and have taught lashes all across Montana and some in Kentucky.

If you were to question your clients about their experiences with you, what would they say? What do you want your clients to think about how much you personally care about their care?
My clients would all think they are my favorite and that I care for them a great deal. I have a very good memory and remember details about my clients life and of course their service.

Tell us a bit about your personal history. Where did you grow up? Anything special about you because of where you are from?
I grew up in Missoula, Montana. I am an identical twin. Being from the town where I own the salon it gives me the pleasure of knowing a lot of people in town.

Esthetician?  This word is hard to say – but what does it mean?  The technical definition is someone who specializes in beatifying the skin.  They perform cosmetic skin treatments including hair removal, facial massage, skin care, eyelash extensions, and make-up application.  There is a big difference in an esthetician who just places product on your skin and an esthetician who is vested in your skin care with you.  I hope to get to know you and your skin care needs to keep you healthy and happy.    Skin care is a team effort and should be taken seriously. I try my best to listen to what you want, I ask questions and make sure that what you’re coming in for is the right fit for you and educate you on your service.  If i don’t know the answer to one of your questions I will do the research and find out for you!
